Harold Hawthorne Community Centre is a not-for-profit organisation based in Carlisle that has been serving the community since 1968. Our vibrant Centre provides community activities, meals, care to people living in their own homes, independent living retirement village and social housing units. We are dedicated to assisting seniors to continue to live independently and with dignity within their community. 

We are seeking a friendly person to join our maintenance and gardening team at Harold Hawthorne Community Centre. This is an excellent opportunity to gain new skills and interact with a diverse group of people. Duties may include:

  • Maintenance tasks, including on buildings and small units.
  • Assisting with general gardening, including pruning, mulching, hedging and weeding.

The hours are flexible to suit your availability, generally between 8.00am to 2.30pm on week days. You will receive an orientation and training to ensure you are familiar with your role. No prior experience is necessary.

Requirements: A National Police Clearance certificate dated within the past three months.  Alternatively complete and sign a Volunteer National Police Certificate Consent Form and we will submit to obtain a police certificate. Evidence of COVID-19 Vaccinations must be provided to comply with government mandates.
