The Good Samaritan Inn (GSI) support services are a critical part of the Victorian Family Violence Service System.
GSI provides a range of crisis and short-term accommodation and support services to women* and gender diverse people, including children and young people, in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.
*GSI extends its service provision to all women (i.e. trans and cisgender women), non-binary, and gender diverse people, including children and young people.
This position supports guests who have experienced family violence and homelessness and are residing in crisis and transitional housing facilities, by delivering structured services using a strengths-based, therapeutic-aligned support model and the Multi Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM). The role provides client-centred casework, using individual, mother and child and whole of family approaches to attain safety, stability and positive long-term outcomes.
The focus will be on collaborating with families to develop parenting capacity, addressing the needs of children and young people, and ensuring their voices are heard to respond to risk and vulnerability with an emphasis on the whole family.
This position is required to be performed as part of a team of Case Managers, Case Support Workers, and management staff. Work will be undertaken in a variety of environments including a crisis accommodation facility, outreach to transitional properties and outreach or co-location to other human and community service settings.
