About the Greens NSW
The Greens Party movement is based on the four pillars of social equity and economic justice, ecological sustainability, grassroots democracy, and peace, nonviolence and disarmament. Greens parties across the world share these same principles and values.
The Greens NSW has 62 local groups across NSW. We currently have four Members of Parliament in the Upper House and three in the Lower House in NSW Parliament. In the Federal Parliament, the Greens have eleven Senators and four Lower House MP’s.

Key responsibilities
The Field Organiser will work closely with the Richmond Campaign Committee and the Campaign Manager to assist with field campaigning and communications:
Key responsibilities will include:
- Recruit and engage volunteers in the Richmond electorate for phone banking, doorknocking, polling booth volunteering and other voter engagement activities.
- Recruit and train field leaders to run their own phone banking and door-knocking in suburbs nominated by the campaign.
- Train volunteers to engage them in persuasive conversations with persuadable voters and develop and co-ordinate training materials for Field teams.
- Oversee the recording and management of the data collected as a result of field activities.
- Other duties as directed.
Essential requirements
The Field Organiser is expected to demonstrate:
- Understanding of NationBuilder.
- Understanding of field campaigning.
- Understanding of Social Media and other communications.
- Understanding of political issues in NSW and the Richmond electorate
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Excellent organisational skills in managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence, problem-solving skills and resilience.
- An understanding of the Greens and support for the party’s principles, policies, and decision-making processes.
- Advanced skills in Google Suite, MS Office, social media platforms.
- Hold a valid NSW Drivers Licence.
- Hold or willing to obtain a current working with children check.
- Evening and weekend work and travel within NSW will be required.
Note: Successful candidates must not be a member of another political party.
Key relationships
- Campaign Manager: Direct line manager. Escalate issues, keep informed, advise, and receive instructions.
- Richmond Campaign Committee: Escalate issues, keep informed, advise, and receive instructions.
- Operations Manager: Escalate issues, keep informed, advise, and receive instructions.
- Volunteers: Develop relationships with, train and recruit volunteers.
- Internal stakeholders: Work with political units to resolve issues and provide solutions to problems.
PAY AND CONDITIONS
- Salary: $88,457.81 FTE p.a pro rata. + 12.5% superannuation.
- Primary Location: Work-from-home, with travel around the Richmond electorate.
- Hours: 21 per week. Some weekend and evening work may be required.
- Status: Part-time fixed contract until two weeks after the 2024/5 Federal Election.
