The Greens NSW
The Greens NSW are looking for a dynamic and energetic Digital Campaigner to assist 7 campaigns in the Hunter Region for the State Election Campaign. This will be up to 2 days a week, part-time role, running from January 2022 until one week after the NSW state election in March 2023. You will work very closely with the Greens candidates across 7 electorates for 5 Hunter Region Greens campaign teams.
The Digital Campaigner will be working with an active and successful grassroots campaign team to develop and implement an innovative and effective communications campaign for the election.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement the Hunter Regional Greens Groups social media and digital advertising strategies.
- Coordinate content across all digital channels, ensuring it is on brand, strategic, timely and engaging.
- Maintain a weekly posting schedule across digital channels, with the aims of brand awareness, building community and reaching persuadable communities.
- Manage Hunter Greens digital advertising campaign in accord with Greens NSW compliance requirements.
- Ensure timely responses to messages and comments.
- Coach and provide expertise to the candidates, campaign teams and build and raise the candidates’ online profile and reach.
- Write and coordinate, original content that increases reach and/or engagement
- Ensure the engagement of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and LGBTQIA+ communities.
- Other duties as directed.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Demonstrable knowledge of and experience with social media and digital advertising platforms.
- Demonstratable ability with producing static and video content for social media platforms
- A commitment to The Greens and to advancing Greens policies and principles including an understanding of the Greens and support for the party’s principles, policies, and decision-making processes.
- Understanding of NSW and Australian political issues and the political system
- Excellent communication, skills.
- Excellent organisational skills in managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence, problem-solving skills and resilience.
- Essential: A current Working with Children Check or a willingness to obtain one in the first month of employment
- Experience with the Greens NSW system of ensuring consistency with electoral commission compliance regulations would be an advantage.
Note: Evening and weekend work will be required.
- Successful candidates must not be a member of another political party.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
- Operations Manager: Direct line manager
- South Coast Campaign Committee (via delegation):Secretary, Hunter Regional Greens Operations and workplan supervisor; provide reports, escalate issues, keep informed and advise.
- Work team: Work collaboratively and inclusively by participating in meetings to share information, innovation, and best practice.
- Internal stakeholders: Work closely with the Hunter Greens candidates, volunteers and Greens NSW staff
WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY

PAY AND CONDITIONS
Salary: $79, 935.55 (Admin Step 2) pro rata, plus 11.5% superannuation.
Primary Location: Remote based position. Preference will be given to applicants based in the Hunter region
Hours: This is a part-time, up to 14 hour a week role
Status: Contract from 12 January to one week after the state election on 25 March 2023.
