About the Role
The Work Health and Safety Officer will provide advice and assistance to Greenacres on a broad range of WHS matters. This position will ensure that Greenacres is providing a safe working environment for all staff, volunteers, participants and visitors.
The WHS Officer must be a strong role model, demonstrating Greenacres’ values of Respect, Empathy, Integrity and Fairness.
Essential Criteria:
- A minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
- Mandatory Return to Work Coordination Certificate.
- Proven commitment to listen and provide feedback with advice or actions to staff members, participants, families and other stakeholders in an appropriate and respectful manner to ensure all WHS matters are managed appropriately.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel, this role requires the use of various other applications.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, practices and standards relevant to the role.
- Ability to develop and report on accurate WHS issues in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated experience in completing internal audits.
Probity Requirements
- A National Criminal Clearance Check less than 6 months old prior to engagement; and subsequent criminal records checks at least once every four years.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module – ‘Quality, Safety & You’.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Working with Children Check.
- The Right to Work in Australia.
- Current valid Driver’s Licence.
