Grand Pacific Health will be opening two new headspace centres in Shellharbour & Kiama towards the end of 2023 & early 2024.

About us

headspace provides support to young people aged 12-25 experiencing mild to moderate or emerging mental health issues. The multidisciplinary teams at headspace Shellharbour & headspace Kiama will work to improve health, social, vocational and educational outcomes for young people.

Grand Pacific Health is a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally tailored, high quality physical and mental health services across NSW and the ACT and is the lead agency for all headspace centres in the Illawarra.

About the position

As a key leadership position, you will provide oversight of the coordination and delivery of clinical services within headspace Shellharbour & Kiama, to the highest standard to meet the needs of young people and their families. You will have your own caseload and provide complex clinical assessment in addition to:

  • Providing support and guidance to a close-knit multidisciplinary team
  • Facilitating clinical and caseload reviews and;
  • Actively managing referrals and demand for clinical services.

You will be an integral member of a team that fosters a culture of inclusiveness, collaboration and support.

The role requires specific and thorough knowledge of clinical and community mental health approaches, as well as a comprehensive understanding of primary, secondary and tertiary mental health services and best practice guidelines.

There are multiple positions available for this role, including a full-time position based in headspace Shellharbour and a part time (22.5 hours per week) position based in headspace Kiama. Both offer a fixed-term opportunity until 30 June 2025 (with possibility of extension).

We are looking for someone with:

  1. AHPRA registration as a Clinical Psychologist, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker (with relevant mental health accreditation) and meet eligibility for a Medicare provider number
  2. Advanced clinical skills including clinical triage, assessment, delivery of evidence based, focused psychological therapies and support of young people at risk
  3. Demonstrated understanding of key issues in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems including ability to effectively engage with young people and their family, friends or carers.
  4. Demonstrated skills in clinical supervision and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Current endorsement as a clinical supervisor is highly regarded
