About the Role

The Hidden Garden Community Café is more than just your local coffee stop - it’s a place where people connect, feel welcome, and grow.

As a social enterprise of Gordon–Pymble Uniting Church, this café offers young people with disability the chance to gain confidence, skills, and community through supported work and volunteering.

We’re looking for a warm, organised and community-minded Café & Hospitality Coordinator to lead the way - someone who loves hospitality and people in equal measure. The role involves understanding and working within the Uniting Church’s values, following church policies, and being flexible and open to challenges to support the church's goals.

This is a 25 hour per week role (Thursday–Saturday) with room to grow as the café grows.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Overseeing day-to-day café operations (coffee, food, good vibes)
• Coordinating and supporting a team of volunteers
• Creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space
• Partnering with local disability services to provide training and work experience
• Helping with community events and church hospitality (this may provide extra hours)
• Promoting the café locally and helping it become a much-loved community hub
• Collaborating with the church team and social enterprise group to dream big
• Working with the Uniting Church’s values and policies, and supporting the church's mission in everything you do.

Who You Are

You’re someone who brings both heart and hustle - you can keep a café running smoothly while building a place where people feel seen and supported.

What you bring:

• Experience working in a café or hospitality environment
• Food safety and barista qualifications
• Strong leadership and people skills
• Patience, empathy, and a great sense of humour
• A passion for inclusion, community, and social impact
• Bonus: experience working with people with disability or in a church or community setting
