About us

Good Neighbours is an international development NGO founded in 1991 for the purpose of reducing poverty in the most disadvantaged communities. Good Neighbours implements projects to protect child rights, strengthen global partnerships, and advocate for the rights of the most vulnerable across the globe.

The Good Neighbours Australia office launched in 2018 under the auspices of the Good Neighbours’ partnership. Good Neighbours Australia currently implements domestic and overseas programs. We are registered with ACNC (Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission) and have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Status.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

As a member of Good Neighbours Australia, you will be reporting to the Director.

  • Research and manage grant opportunities both local and international.
  • Assist in Design and prepare high quality proposals for potential donors based on the plans developed with program partners.
  • Assist in Grant writing application.
  • Reply and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders in relation to current program.
  • Seek both internal and external updates, information, news or current environmental, political or developmental challenges or advances that may impact our work in our partner countries.
  • Manage and monitor international projects with occasional contact with overseas partners outside of normal office hours due to time zone differences.
  • Review and revise current policies as required.
  • Assist to maintain compliance with grant agreements.
  • Ensure Donor reporting requirements.

SKILlS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, International Development, Fundraising, or another relevant Human Services area.
  • Demonstrated success as the Grant writer/Program Officer for multiple successful proposals.
  • 2+ years relevant experience, which includes proposal development, annual reports, technical documentation, and deliverables.
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, and able to handle multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Proven skills ideally including dealing with multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Knowledge of relevant risk and needs assessment frameworks.
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing programs.
  • Proven ability to contribute to a cohesive team environment.
  • Willingness to be proactive and help others, contribute to the continuous improvement of a positive, collaborative and effective work environment.
  • High ethical standard, honesty, exceptional time management, respectability, and professionalism.
  • Previous related experience in not-for-profit and/or non-government (NGO) organisations required.
