The Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG) Senior Policy and Research Officer role is for an experienced, self-directed person with a good understanding of the key issues relating to: ageing; aged, health, disability and social services, and; the multidisciplinary workforce required to support older Australians.
The primary purpose of the position is to develop, document and advocate for evidence-informed, multi-disciplinary and holistic, independent, collaborative and fair policy and practice papers.
You will have the opportunity to influence ageing-related policy and practice, whilst working collaboratively with thought leaders in the sector.
The projects the person in this role will lead in the coming financial year relate promoting a multidisciplinary aged care workforce to meet the needs and preferences of older Australians, including through the education, development and retention of workers and accreditation of services. This includes a particular focus for this role in the coming year on meeting the needs and preferences of:
The person who takes this role will work with a small established team, in particular: the Policy and Research Manager, two other part-time Senior Policy and Research Officers, a Policy and Research Officer, a Policy Communications Officer and AAG’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ageing Advisory Group Officer. You will also work with AAG members and stakeholders from across Australia.
The person who takes this role must have the experience and capability to work remotely as an integral part of the AAG team.
