We are seeking a casual Sessional Trainer to step into our Regional Integration Committee (WIFVC)! The salary for this role is a SCHADS Level 6.3 (equivalent to $67.74 per hour excluding superannuation).

The Sessional Trainer position sits within the Western Integrated Family Violence Committee (WIFVC). The WIFVC is a representative, whole-of-sector reference group comprising key stakeholders committed to reducing family violence in Melbourne’s west. The WIFVC is one of 13 regional committees across Victoria funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH).

The role of the WIFVC is to provide regional leadership in service integration and planning, policy and advocacy to improve service responses to family violence in the West. Activities are designed to support achieving WIFVC priorities as set out in the WIFVC Strategic Plan. In the West, GenWest is contracted by DFFH to be the auspice organisation for funds and the employment of staff. The casual sessional trainer reports to our WIFVC Principal Strategic Advisor.

This role's main component involves delivering the full day (8-hour) MARAM Collaborative Practice module online or face to face per the WIFVC training calendar, which follows the school term of approximately one session per week. Sessional Trainers are provided with proposed training dates up to three months in advance, and are expected to deliver 1-4 sessions per month, alongside a fellow trainer.

Please outline your knowledge of and experience aligning to the MARAM Framework in your application. Candidates without knowledge or experience of the MARAM Framework need not apply.

Induction and observation of a training day required prior to delivery of package.

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Facilitating the delivery of MARAM Collaborative Practice Module training
  • Maintaining contemporary knowledge and understanding of the MARAM framework
  • Contributing to the evaluation of MARAM training sessions and related activities including program reviews

Additional role responsibilities may include:

  • Facilitating the delivery of other MARAM information sessions/activities as required
  • Contributing to the development of MARAM activities and resources as required to tailor content to meet the needs of key stakeholder groups

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • In-depth knowledge of family violence and the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Framework.
  • Professional experience in the human services sector, including use of the MARAM Framework, tool, and practice guidance.
  • Ability to facilitate the delivery of training programs, including in consultation with other stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant field.
  • Extensive understanding and/or knowledge of the community service organisations in the western suburbs.
