We are seeking a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner within our Outreach Case Management team! This role is a SCHADS Level 4.4- 5.3($92,039.91-$102,278.01) pay point dependent on experience, plus superannuation, plus $15,990 salary packaging.

We are seeking a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner within our Safer Places and Recovery – Case Management team! This is a permanent ongoing full-time position.

As Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, you will be responsible for the delivery of family violence case management support to victim survivors (including children) of family violence. You will develop case plans that address victim survivor risk and the impact that family violence has had on their lives.

Reporting to the Outreach Team Leader, the responsibilities of this role include:

  • Managing and supporting an agreed number of cases, that consist of developing and reviewing case plans that reflect client goals within expected service delivery timelines, including crisis, brief and longer-term responses.
  • Undertaking comprehensive risk assessment and safety planning using the tools contained within the Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM).
  • Providing information to victim survivors of family violence to support them in understanding the service system and navigating barriers to assistance.
  • Providing crisis support and advocacy for victim survivors experiencing family violence.
  • Explaining client rights and responsibilities in regard to limited confidentiality and informs clients when risk indicates that information sharing with specific services or authorities is required.
  • Assisting in service and justice system navigation and undertaking advocacy on behalf of victim survivors to mitigate gaps in service response.
  • Facilitating multidisciplinary cross team work to document, implement, monitor and modify case management plans designed to address the ongoing needs of victim survivors.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social work or related discipline as per the Minimum Mandatory Qualifications.
  • Experience effectively managing competing priorities.
  • Proven experience in collaborating effectively within a team, cross-functional and with external agencies.
  • Strong ability to exercise initiative and judgement in complex situations.
  • Experience managing your own workload in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate high quality written and verbal communication skills
