We are seeking a Senior Training and Capacity Building Coordinator within our Strategy, Advocacy, Community Engagement (SACE) team! This role is a SCHADS Level 6.1 $111,703 pro rata, plus 11.5% superannuation, plus $15,990 salary packaging. This will be a Part-Time 0.8 FTE Fixed Term contract until 1st May 2026.

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Training and Capacity Building Coordinator within our Strategy, Advocacy, Community Engagement (SACE) team!

As a Senior Training and Capacity Building Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing gender equality and the prevention of family violence training and consultancy programs at GenWest. This includes the development of new approaches to training and consultancy services in a fee-for-service environment.

The role is responsible for maintaining strategic partnerships with a range of local councils, private companies, state government departments and community organisations. The role will contribute to GenWest’s goal to further diversify income. The role reports to the Training and Capacity Building Project Lead and is part of the Strategy, Advocacy and Community Engagement (SACE) stream.

Key responsibilities:

  • Operating under limited direction from senior management, you will establish the formation of programs and work practices in a fee for service environment. This includes leading the development and delivery of training and consultancy services on workplace and community gender equality and the prevention of family violence projects. This requires a high level of responsibility for decision making, exercising judgement and business acumen skills.
  • Provide evidence based expert advice and consulting services to councils, companies and government departments using an intersectional and gender transformative approach.
  • Working closely with the communications team, manage the marketing and promotion of the training and consultancy activities through GenWest's social media channels and other avenues.
  • With limited direction from senior management, manage key projects including the planning, implementation, budget, partnership management, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting.
  • Maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, and as required negotiate with these stakeholders on behalf of the organisation.
  • Manage a pool of casual facilitators to ensure effective delivery and quality control.
  • Keep abreast of the business and prevention of family violence landscapes for changes in legislation, policies, and initiatives and use this knowledge to inform program planning and implementation.
  • Sharing evidence with the broader sector through publications, conference presentations and other presentations at key forums.

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications such as health promotion, gender studies, or social policy disciplines, or comparable work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years professional experience in health promotion practice or a related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in primary prevention of family violence and gender equity promotion.
  • Significant skills and experience in training and capacity building to address intersectional drivers of gendered violence in workplace and community settings.
  • Skills and experience in developing effective partnerships, including high level partnership negotiation skills.
  • Experience in budget management and establishing work practices.
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills to resolve organisation issues, negotiate contracts and develop and motivate staff.
  • Experience in marketing and promotion in a fee for service environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence change.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, including the ability to plan, implement and evaluate projects, write reports and submissions and review programs and services to meet stated government and GenWest objectives.
