The Victorian National Parks Association (VNPA) is one of Victoria's most effective conservation groups. Established in 1952 to promote national parks, it has grown into a strong and respected advocate for nature conservation in Victoria, and has played a leading role in the development of Victoria’s nature reserve system and conservation policy.

VNPA educates the community and advocates for the protection of Victoria's special natural areas, flora and fauna, and for the proper management of National Parks and protected areas. They are a not-for-profit, membership-based, community organisation and registered charity. The Association is supported by a small number of professional staff and a large base of volunteers, members and supporters.

The Fundraising Executive’s main focus will be to engage donors, members, supporters and new contacts to maximise fundraising income. This role is responsible for the delivery of direct mail and digital appeals, the regular giving program, supporter acquisition, retention and upgrade, and using the CRM effectively for supporter communications. This role will work closely with the Fundraising Manager, Philanthropy Executive, Office Coordinator and the Communications team.

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, you will coordinate the implementation of the multi-faceted direct marketing program to ensure annual fundraising targets are achieved. You will keep all fundraising messages aligned and maximised across all platforms and develop marketing for key VNPA events and activities. You will manage the regular giving program including communications, renewals, upgrades and acquisition. This role will also write and proofread grant applications, pitch documents and other materials.

Your maintenance and usage of the CRM (currently eTapestry) will help to target and engage varied supporter segments and ensure data integrity, as well as make you the primary contact with the CRM supplier. The Fundraising Executive will develop and manage other fundraising methods such as supporter surveys, workplace giving and peer-to-peer opportunities as well as high quality marketing collateral to support activities. This role will build and maintain good external supporter relationships while internally supervising casual staff, consultants, suppliers and volunteers.

About YOU

• Demonstrated experience implementing successful direct and digital marketing, acquisition and fundraising appeals,
• Experience in a similar role within the not-for-profit sector and relevant tertiary qualifications are both highly desirable,
• Demonstrated experience coordinating the production of high-quality materials,
• Experience updating websites and effectively using social media for a not-for-profit is desirable,
• Proven ability to manage fundraising and/or membership CRM databases,
• Demonstrated project, budget and time management skills,
• Well-developed interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills,
• Able to work as part of a broad team of staff and volunteers,
• Familiarity with FIA’s fundraising code for best practice professional fundraising is an advantage,
• Empathy with environment issues and alignment with VNPA’s vision and mission.
