The role

Reporting to the Head of Donor Engagement, the Fundraising Communications Manager plays a pivotal role in WVA’s Private Funding Group in developing and implementing values-aligned strategies to effectively communicate with donors and potential supporters across all Private Funding donor groups. Working in synergy with the broader Private Funding Team and other communications specialists, this role creates compelling materials and collateral such as grant proposals, funding proposals, press releases, EDM’s, direct mail, emergency response material as well as preparing quarterly budgets that meet compliance and internal standards for quality.

About YOU

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising and/or communications
  • Excellent writing and copywriting skills with a donor-centric approach and experience across print and digital channels
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to form and maintain meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills
  • Familiarity with philanthropy, corporates and trusts & foundations
  • Exceptional storytelling ability, strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex concepts to audiences in simple form
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and work closely with team members
  • Design skills are advantageous
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Nonprofit Management, Business, Marketing, Communications
