Are you passionate about developing young people aged 5-16 years in your community? Want to work in a dedicated and supportive team?
We’re seeking a part time Child and Youth Community Wellbeing Hub Worker to join our Youth and Middle Years Services Office, located in the heart of Prahran, for 19 hours per week (working mostly afternoons from 3pm to 6pm and occasional Saturday shifts). We also have multiple casual opportunities available where you can utilise your strong communication skills and expand on your experience working with and engaging children, young people and families.
The Prahran Child and Youth Community Wellbeing Hub (The Hub) is located on the Horace Petty Housing Estate offering programs, events and services for young people who reside in the various public housing estates in the South Yarra and Prahran area. As a Hub Worker, you’ll provide support to young people and their families to access socio-emotional and recreational activities as well as support services to address barriers impacting on wellbeing and educational engagement. Working with other Hub staff you will formulate, implement and evaluate strategies and procedures for behaviour modification, conflict resolution and personal growth that are responsive to the individual needs of children and young people.
The successful candidates will have or be working towards a tertiary qualification in a related field and have demonstrated experience in community development, case management and in program planning, implementation and evaluation. Additionally you will have demonstrated skills in working with and engaging children, young people and families, in particular those from non-English speaking and low socioeconomic backgrounds.
The City of Stonnington has a strong commitment to providing a culture where employee health, wellbeing and development are a priority. As well as regular learning and development opportunities, you’ll also have access to some fantastic benefits including participation in our award nominated Wellbeing Program with discounted gym and aquatic memberships, regular exercise programs, health and wellbeing events and more! Additionally you’ll have a work life balance, receive annual leave loading, priority access to Council managed childcare facilities and maternal child health and immunisation services and work for an organisation with a dedicated Green Team.
Be part of Stonnington. Work that matters. People who make a difference.
