About the role

The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective warehousing, resource recovery and logistic operations. The key purpose of the role is to ensure productive, timely and safe running of the warehouse and movement of resources. This includes managing logistics, stock control and staff teams to deliver on Green Collect’s environmental and social objectives.

The function of the Warehouse Manager is to manage all warehousing activities and processes in line with Green Collect’s mission; ensuring the provision of a safe and supportive work environment while meeting the demands of a competitive and commercially viable business.

This includes coordinating all warehouse site activities, managing effective use of the entire multifunctional space and liaising with key stakeholders. The Warehouse Manager will be a proactive, forward thinking and well organised person with excellent problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated commitment to people and planet.

  • Excellent communications skills, and the ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience at supervisor or management level in a warehouse or distribution role
  • Experience in managing relationships with third-party providers
  • Excellent long-term thinking and planning skills, balanced with ability to react quickly to events and to prioritise in multifaceted work environment
  • Understanding of WHS legislation
  • Warehouse systems knowledge, experience in crate/pallet movement and tracking
  • Sound knowledge of logistics/warehouse best practice
  • Experience in training, supervising and managing teams
  • Experience in the resource recovery sector, or community sector an advantage

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Cert 3 in Warehousing or Logistics desirable
  • Sustainability or Environmental qualifications preferable 
  • Forklift licence (LF) preferable
  • Current Driver’s licence
  • Current First aid certificate
