Gateway Health is a community health service providing health and welfare services to individuals, families and communities across north east Victoria and parts of southern New South Wales. We are a not-for-profit Company limited by guarantee and a registered Community Health Service under the Health Services Act 1988 (Vic).
The organisation employs over 380 staff providing a range of primary health and community services across the Ovens Murray region in North East Victoria and parts of Southern New South Wales. Gateway Health serves all people, and is committed to improving individual and population health outcomes. We do this by providing health care and support to individuals and communities in times of need, and by actively working with our partners to address the social and environmental determinants of health.
Our Domestic and Family Violence Services Program incorporates both Family Violence Services for victim-survivors and Men’s Behaviour Change services. Our integrated victim survivor and MBC specialist teams work collaboratively to increase victim survivor safety and perpetrator accountability while also providing the opportunity for important perpetrator change work.
You will lead up to 10 client-focused domestic and family violence team members in collaboration with the Domestic and Family Violence Clinical Lead. You’ll perform all the people leader fundamentals - managing the day to day, monitoring the workload of the team and working closely with the Clinical Lead to manage escalations from our clients as these arise. You'll also work with your team on their career development, provide coaching, mentoring and manage any performance issues while you lead by example.
Within the Domestic and Family Violence Team you will look after the following suite of programs:
You'll be working closely with the Program Manager, Domestic and Family Violence, and be joining a broader leadership team that is supportive, inclusive and encouraging, who are energised by each other and work closely and collaboratively. If you're ready to bring your skills and expertise, trial new ways of working and having the autonomy with which to do so, this is the perfect time for you to join the Domestic and Family Violence team!
You are passionate about making a difference! As a positive and energetic person, you want to contribute and generate new ideas. You want to be part of a fun and dynamic environment, so teamwork is something you love.
Ultimately, we want a strong leader, someone with proven leadership experience who leads by example, values authenticity and welcomes diverse people, ideas and opinions. We need someone who enjoys bringing out the best in their team. In this hands-on role, we are looking for an individual who always has their team in the front of their mind and who has high expectations.
You are proactive, flexible and enjoy working collaboratively with other people to share insights and experiences. You enjoy bringing out the best in those you work with and driving change to create an environment where people feel comfortable to be themselves and truly excel in their roles. With your strong leadership and relationship building skills, high level of communication and problem-solving skills, you know you have what it takes to really shape and make this position your own.
We do not need someone to have direct Domestic and Family Violence leadership or frontline service delivery experience, but this is certainly an advantage. Strong experience in community services, mental health, the health care sector, legal practice or public service will be very favourably considered.
