Admin Support Worker

This position will play a vital role supporting the operations of Gailes Community House in a part time capacity (20 hours per week to be generally worked within our opening hours of 9.30am to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday, occasional out of hours work may be required).

Key responsibilities:

  1. General administrative duties including taking meeting minutes when required, database maintenance, taking telephone enquiries and reception desk support.
  2. Ensuring the Centre is kept clean, and repairs carried out when required.
  3. Supporting volunteers in admin and reception roles.
  4. Marketing and advertising, social media management, newsletter distribution and website updates
  5. Ordering stationery and equipment, obtaining quotes and organising works and deliveries.
  6. Maintenance of registers including asset register, maintenance, health and safety incidents, training, committee, and membership registers.
  7. Provide administrative support to the Centre Coordinator, Management Committee and other staff as required.

  1. Timely delivery of administrative duties to ensure smooth program and centre operation.

  4. Growth in social media following, newsletter subscribers and event attendance.
  5. Active participation in team meetings and positive working relationships.

Key selection criteria

  1. Minimum Cert III in Business/Administration, Community Service or IT or equivalent experience, preferably in a community-based setting
  2. Strong community service focus and excellent communication skills
  3. Experience working with people from a diversity of backgrounds and abilities
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  5. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality
  7. Reliability and flexibility

Requirements:

  1. Eligibility for Working with Children check (Blue Card)
  2. All staff are required to undergo a National Police Check every 5 years

Desirable:

  • Qld Driver’s Licence
