Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of koalas in the Northern Rivers region? If so, we invite you to become part of our dedicated team at Friends of the Koala. Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is a vital event where we'll be electing the 2023-2024 Management Committee, and your expertise and commitment could help drive positive change.
As an organisation, we have evolved from humble beginnings to a sophisticated entity, and we need dynamic individuals to steer our efforts in the right direction. While our dedicated team of six employees manages the daily operations, the Management Committee takes on the critical role of providing strategic guidance, ensuring robust corporate governance, managing risks, and upholding legal obligations. Your participation can significantly impact the future of koalas and their habitat.
We are actively seeking individuals with expertise in various areas, including business management, strategic planning, risk management, marketing, fundraising, human resources, and advocacy, to join our Management Committee. Your responsibilities as a committee member will include overseeing our strategic direction, upholding high ethical standards, actively engaging in bi-monthly Committee meetings, contributing to our sustainability initiatives, championing good governance practices, and offering specialised advice in your field.

Meetings occur bi-monthly or as needed by the Management Committee.
The Management Committee comprises four Executive Office-bearing positions:
In addition, we have seven General Committee Member positions, some of which may hold Coordinator roles if they can manage the workload of both positions.
All positions become available at the AGM and require formal nomination for election. Nomination forms will be accepted through various channels, including post, email, online submission, or in-person, until Sunday, October 8th, 2023.
For more information about the Management Committee's work or specific positions, or to express your interest and receive a nomination form, please feel free to reach out to our President, Aliison Kelly, at [email protected] using the subject line: Management Committee / Board of Directors (Voluntary) - Lismore enquiry via EthicalJobs or call 0428 216 079.
