Sexual Health Victoria (SHV) is a leading provider of sexual and reproductive healthcare and education. We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead our dedicated nursing team and ensure the delivery of safe, inclusive and high-quality clinical services.

This role is ideal for an experienced registered nurse with strong leadership capability, a passion for sexual and reproductive health, and the ability to drive innovation in service delivery and clinical practice.

About the Role

The Nurse Manager plays a critical leadership role within SHV, blending clinical expertise with operational oversight to support best-practice, client-centred care. Working collaboratively with the Practice Manager, Medical Director, Nurse Practitioner and the Head of Education Services, you will manage day-to-day clinical operations and champion continuous improvement across all aspects of service delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and coaching the nursing team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based sexual and reproductive health services.
  • Coordinating staffing, rostering, recruitment and workforce development.
  • Overseeing clinical protocols, infection control, clinical governance and service improvement initiatives.
  • Managing budgets, stock control, risk and compliance requirements.
  • Supporting research, evaluation and quality improvement activities.
  • Contributing to organisational leadership, strategy implementation and development of new models of care.

This role is pivotal in ensuring SHV remains an industry leader in high-quality, client-centred sexual and reproductive health care.

The incumbent will be required to undertake and complete a successful national police check and Working with Children Check.

About You

Essential experience & attributes:

  • Demonstrated leadership and clinical supervision experience within a sexual and reproductive health setting.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based sexual and reproductive health nursing practice.
  • Highly developed communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational, prioritisation and time-management capabilities.
  • Ability to lead change, implement clinical improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with standards and guidelines.
  • A commitment to inclusive, client-centred and trauma-informed care.

Qualifications:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
  • Postgraduate qualifications in teaching, training or sexual/reproductive health (desirable).

  3. Experience in clinical governance, quality improvement and implementation of safe, compliant clinical systems, including infection control, audit processes and service improvement initiatives.
