Your impact

The Practice and Sector Development (PSD) program at Foundation House offers professional and organisational development, consultancy and resources to assist health, education, employment and other community service providers, to enhance the responsiveness of their services to the needs of people of refugee backgrounds.

The Communications Officer has a key role in supporting the program areas production, maintenance and promotion of high quality organisational resources, publications and media.

The role will include:

  • Working collaboratively across teams to design, develop and produce resources in digital and hard copy.
  • Managing, monitoring and continuously developing websites and their content to ensure accurate and up to date information.
  • Writing and developing content and promoting professional learning and resources.
  • Assisting in monitoring and developing social media platforms and content to ensure the Victorian Refugee Health Network (VRHN) is represented in social media.
  • Leveraging social media to further the aims of VRHN and Practice Development and Learning objectives and ensure a strong digital story telling presence.

This is a fixed term 0.4 EFT, contract position for 12 months.

What you’ll need to successfully apply

To be successful, you will need to positively respond to the below selection criteria:

  • Ability to design, create, coordinate and produce a variety of electronic and hard copy resources using relevant design software.
  • Advanced skills in website content platforms including WordPress.
  • Advanced skills in social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and X.
  • Advanced computer skills in Word, Adobe suite, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and other platforms such as MailChimp, Campaign Monitor and Eventbrite.
  • Excellent communication skills in both writing and design.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet project deliverables and timelines.
  • Understanding of the Copyright Act, licenses and permissions procedures.
  • Understanding of citation, reference and acknowledgment.
