Position summary:
- Forbes Allied Services is provider of NDIS funded supports for people experiencing severe and enduring mental health issues
- Community based support worker position providing support for people to access the community and build their capacity and independence
- Reporting to the Director – Kurt Forbes
Skills:
- Ability to engage with clients, build rapport, motivate and build positive professional relationships
- Work in a strengths-based recovery-oriented mode of practice
Experience:
- Experience working with persons with complex and acute mental health presentations
- Experience working within and NDIS framework (desirable)
Qualifications:
- Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health, Disability, Community Services or related field. Or willingness to commence study
We are looking for an experienced support worker to join our growing team.
The support worker will report directly to the Director for the provision of mental health support work duties including:
- Engaging people with complex mental health issues and support needs
- Using a coaching model, supporting NDIS participants in achieving their individual goals
- Identify, report and manage client related risk issues
- Keywork as well as work within care teams
- Provide direction to other Forbes Allied Services staff members involved in care teams
Successful applicants must have:
- Relevant experience in working in a similar role
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Current satisfactory police check and working with children’s check
- Current drivers license.
