South Australia’s first Head to Health centre will be the Head to Health Mount Gambier. This exciting and brand-new service will provide a stigma-free soft entry point for people experiencing distress to receive immediate assistance and information with a “no wrong doors” approach. Head to Health Mount Gambier will connect people to services in the region and offer information to support mental health. This opportunity represents a distinct new presence in the health landscape, specifically designed with mental wellbeing at the core, providing a safe place to be heard and understood.

Peer Support Worker - up to 2.0 FTE - ($67996- $72805) p.a pro rata + Super + Salary Packaging

Peer Support Workers provide compassionate and engaged communication from a perspective of lived or living experience of mental illness and recovery into relevant and meaningful information, resources and support for people entering, continuing, or re-visiting Head to Health Mount Gambier.

The Peer Support Worker uses personal recovery expertise to support the growth of hope, self-advocacy, social connections and recovery strategies in the individuals, families and carers they work alongside of. They will championing a strengths-based approach to peer-led self-determined positions of personal wellness.

Candidates for Peer Support roles will be willing to undertake certificate level Peer Support / Lived Experience formal training.

The successful applicants will be remunerated in accordance with FocusOne Health’s EBA dependent on skills, experience and qualifications. We offer flexible terms and conditions and attractive salary packaging arrangements.

In accordance with the South Australian Children and Young People (Safety) Act 2017, the successful applicants will be required to obtain both a National Police Certificate and a Child Related DCSI screening, prior to employment commencing.
