We are seeking a new Manager.

FOCAS Shoalhaven Incorporated is a small community based, not for profit that has served people with disability in the Shoalhaven since 1993. We are a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider and offer an array of individualised services that support the meaningful inclusion of people with disability. Our organisation prides itself on its ability to be flexible and responsive to the needs of people with disability and to continuously strive for ways to improve this.

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic professional who holds a strong social justice perspective to lead our organisation into the future. You must possess a commitment to the Vision, Mission and philosophy of the organisation and hold strong values in relation to the importance of the inclusion of people with disability. This role will require you to report directly to our management committee.

This Leadership role will involve the oversight of all day to day operations of the organisation including its strategic direction. This includes the management of our 40 plus support team, a finance manager, Plan Management services and Support Coordination Services. Responsible for ensuring the organisation meet audit requirements under the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission to maintain registration. 

SELECTION CRITERIA (must be addressed in application)

  • A commitment to the full inclusion of people with disability
  • Understanding of contemporary models of support that lead to community inclusion of people with disability
  • Demonstrated senior leadership experience within the disability sector or similar
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans
  • Demonstrated financial management skills including the capacity to develop, implement and lead financial planning obligations
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills in developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the NDIS and participant plans and budgets within
  • Ability to recruit, develop and motivate staff and volunteers
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies and programs impacting on people with disability at State and Commonwealth levels.
  • Capacity to occasionally work evenings

Desirable but not essential:

  • Lived experience of disability and/or equivalent experience in understanding the needs of people with disability.
  • Management qualifications or similar
  • Social Role Valorisation training and willingness to undertake further training

Hours: 38hrs per week Mon - Fri

Based: Nowra NSW

Award: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHCADS) Industry Award 2020 within Level 8 commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Fringe Benefit arrangements are also available.
