We’re looking for a positive, motivated, organised, inspiring, collaborative digital marketing jedi to lead our marketing team. We’re a wildly successful startup who’s growing fast and we’re on the hunt for a humble yet brilliant big thinker to take Flow to the next level. Reporting to the GM and working closely alongside the CEO, the Marketing Manager will take a leadership role in building, implementing, and overseeing the company's marketing vision and strategy.
Working from Byron Bay (one of the most beautiful places in the world!) we’re an innovative company on a mission to get nature lovers looking after bees with a Flow Hive, our groundbreaking beehive system. Thanks to our patented technology, Flow Hive allows beekeepers to extract honey directly from the hive without disturbing the bees. Invented by Cedar and Stuart Anderson, our CEO and his dad, this world-first product was launched through one of the most successful crowdfunding campaigns in Indiegogo history – starting with a goal of $70,000 and ending with over $16 million in orders. In just two and half years, more than 40,000 people in over 100 countries have purchased our Flow Hives. It's been an incredible journey for our staff of nearly 40, and we have only just reached a fraction of our potential bee-loving community and the potential is enormous!
You’re experienced in marketing AND digital marketing
We’re looking for minimum three to five years immersed in the digital marketing space. You’ve been a marketing manager in your past life and you understand the complexities of such a role. You’re up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement, and have a top-notch understanding and up-to-date view of the e-commerce online marketing space. You have an excellent knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends) and solid knowledge of email marketing methodologies for e-commerce. You’re experienced in running marketing campaigns to an international audience. You’re also all over setting up and optimising advertising platforms (Google Adwords, Facebook Ads, Instagram).
You’re a team player
We’re a startup which means we wear different hats when needed—which is most days. You don’t mind getting your hands dirty and you thrive on collaborating and working consistently in a team environment. You ask for constructive feedback and make a point of implementing it.
You can think on your feet
You understand that the digital space is nimble and ever-changing, and you react well to this. You spot opportunities and shifting priorities due to new market intelligence and can test, revise and update on the fly. You’re flexible when you need to be in order to take on whatever is needed to execute the strategy.
You’re a natural communicator
You like people and you understand what it takes to act as a conduit between internal teams and external producers. You’re open and honest, empathetic, considered and fair.
You’re organised
With multiple marketing campaigns running at one time and new products launching, you thrive on working to tight deadlines and your attention to detail doesn’t waver under pressure.
You’re a problem solver
When things go awry, people call on your expertise and collaboration to solve the problem. You see the glass as half full and know that there is always a solution.
You understand brands
You can immerse yourself in brands, getting to know them intimately and understand what they need. You have good taste, a sense of aesthetics, and a love for great copy and witty communication.
You’re a (nice) salesperson
Not the cheesy kind, but a sharer and a networker. You understand that good sales is about believing in your product as if you invented it yourself, and sharing it far and wide because you know it makes the world a better place.
You’re a motivator
You like to see your team achieve and you know how to support them in getting there.
You understand our customers
You’re interested in customer psychology and have proven experience in creatively devising and leading marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate. What you don’t know about beekeeping, you’re willing to learn.
You’re good at numbers
You love data and get excited about using data to inform strategic decision making. You’re numerically literate and comfortable making sense of metrics and processing figures with spreadsheets. You know how to plan and manage your budget but also when to argue for an opportunity.
You’re a good human being
You’re curious, understanding, and strive to make yourself a better person. You actively engage in trying to make the world a better place and are seeking a job where you can do this and also grow personally and professionally at the same time.
