Fundraising Institute Australia (FIA) is the national peak body representing professional fundraising in Australia. Our mission is to build a vibrant community of best-practice fundraisers and a culture of professional fundraising which we do through education and training, support and advocacy, and the promotion and protection of the fundraising sector.

FIA is seeking a smart and proactive innovator who will play a key role in delivering outstanding outcomes for professional fundraisers at all stages of their career, while positioning FIA as the preeminent provider of fundraising training and education in Australia and New Zealand. This is not a run-of-the-mill role but rather a driver and leader intent on delivering meaningful outcomes for FIA and the entire sector.

As Executive Manager Professional Education and Partnerships, you will be an active collaborator on FIA’s leadership team, working closely with the CEO to drive an agenda of growth for our education and training program.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Financial and operational accountability for FIA’s education and training program
  • Development of new programs and services to advance the careers of professional fundraisers at all stages
  • Management of key FIA programs including mentoring and leadership programs
  • Growth and development of partnerships which help FIA and our sector to advance our role and remit
  • Be the recognised leader of and guide for professional fundraising and career expertise in Australia and New Zealand for FIA
  • Develop and implement a three-year plan for excellent financial and reputational outcomes aligned to the FIA strategic plan
  • Manage and develop a small team to deliver outcomes

What does our ideal candidate look like?

  • You have 5-7 years’ experience in role with responsibility for continuing professional development and career journey outcomes, preferably in a member-based or industry association or experience in professional fundraising education contexts
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing sector-wide competency-based training and development programs as part of professional career journeys
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience including in representing industry bodies or member associations
  • Well-developed business/partnership development and relationship management skills
  • Proven project management experience to manage multiple deliverables and timeframes on a range of projects and with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and course authoring tools helpful
  • High-level communications and stakeholder relations skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills – in-person, calls and e-mails
  • Appropriate qualifications, such as an undergraduate degree in education, communications or business and/or TAE 40110 or TAE 40116 and/or Cert IV in Training and Assessment
  • You have full Australian working rights with NO visa restrictions
