The Foundation is an international development organisation working to prevent blindness and restore sight. We continue to carry on the legacy of Professor Fred Hollows, who believed every person had the right to quality eye care, no matter where they live. The Foundation has grown to work in more than 25 countries throughout Africa, South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and the Pacific, as well as Australia.
The Foundation has restored sight to more than 3 million people worldwide. We have an ambitious five-year strategic plan that aims to take us even closer to realising our vision of a world in which no person is needlessly blind or vision impaired and Indigenous Australians exercise their right to sight and good health.
It is anticipated that 55-70% of this role will be Data Science focused. The balance will be Analytics focused and primarily involve Reporting, Business Intelligence and Decision Support. You will report to the Head of Data Analytics and Data Science who is an experienced Data Scientist within the Fundraising area of FHF.
FHF is amongst the premier For Purpose organisations in Australia. The size and quality of the supporter database is exceptional. The Data IT infrastructure and toolset is leading edge. As you join an established, small and talented Data team you will be uniquely positioned and expected to contribute strongly to delivering leading edge data solutions that support and extend FHF’s ambitious fundraising goals.
Whilst demonstrable workplace success in Data Science and Analytics is valued, minimal levels of workplace experience will not necessarily be a barrier for applicants with appropriate tertiary qualifications to this role. What is essential is demonstrable capability to proactively tackle problems with a ‘can-do’ attitude, to learn quickly, to look beyond presented problems to underlying needs and root causes, to successfully convey ownership of solutions to key fundraising staff, to focus on collective outcomes, to manage simultaneous projects, and to usefully apply technical skills to real world fundraising challenges.
Through our internal programs and employee benefits we aim to create an environment where you will feel supported and empowered. Whether your focus is on continuous learning, professional development or finding an environment which enables you to thrive while balancing family or personal commitments, we have a range of programs in place to support you.
