Subcontractor - Contact Supervisors

  • Contract Type: Subcontractor Agreement
  • Hours: Flexible
  • Remuneration: $75.00 per hour (plus travel costs, billed to the client one way)
  • Subcontractors handle their taxes and super contributions and must have an ABN, public liability, professional indemnity and personal accident insurance. Contact sessions are a two-hour minimum.
  • Experience: Applicants who have child protection or family services experience will be looked upon favourably.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide impartial, high-quality supervision and facilitation of contact sessions, prioritising the safety and well-being of children.
  • Develop professional relationships with children, parents, extended family members, and carers.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential records of observations and interactions, demonstrating strong written communication skills.
  • Risk & Safeguarding: Assess and manage risks and report safeguarding concerns per guidelines.
  • Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain confidential records and submit reports within three days.
  • Communication: Act as an impartial supervisor between children, families, and professionals.
  • Compliance: Follow relevant legislation, policies, and Victorian Child Safe Standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in child welfare, family support, social services, and supervised contact.
  • Qualifications: Social work, psychology, counselling, or related field.
  • Skills: Strong communication, professionalism, organisation, and safeguarding knowledge.
  • Requirements: Police check, First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Check.
  • Vehicle: Roadworthy, insured vehicle for occasional child transport.
  • Personal Attributes: Compassionate, non-judgmental, and respectful of confidentiality.

Working Conditions:

  • The role requires working with vulnerable children in community environments
  • Locations in community settings, flexible hours, including evenings/weekends as needed.
