Remuneration: $75.00 per hour (plus travel costs, billed to the client one way)
Subcontractors handle their taxes and super contributions and must have an ABN, public liability, professional indemnity and personal accident insurance. Contact sessions are a two-hour minimum.
Experience: Applicants who have child protection or family services experience will be looked upon favourably.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide impartial, high-quality supervision and facilitation of contact sessions, prioritising the safety and well-being of children.
Develop professional relationships with children, parents, extended family members, and carers.
Maintain detailed and confidential records of observations and interactions, demonstrating strong written communication skills.
Risk & Safeguarding: Assess and manage risks and report safeguarding concerns per guidelines.
Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain confidential records and submit reports within three days.
Communication: Act as an impartial supervisor between children, families, and professionals.
Compliance: Follow relevant legislation, policies, and Victorian Child Safe Standards.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in child welfare, family support, social services, and supervised contact.
Qualifications: Social work, psychology, counselling, or related field.
Skills: Strong communication, professionalism, organisation, and safeguarding knowledge.
Requirements: Police check, First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Check.
Vehicle: Roadworthy, insured vehicle for occasional child transport.
Personal Attributes: Compassionate, non-judgmental, and respectful of confidentiality.
Working Conditions:
The role requires working with vulnerable children in community environments
Locations in community settings, flexible hours, including evenings/weekends as needed.
