  • Clerk Grade 9/10. Base salary ($113, 343 pa - $124,901 pa) plus super and annual leave loading.

About the team 

The Public Guardian can be appointed by a court or tribunal to make health and lifestyle decisions for people who are unable to on their own, or with support. These include decisions such as where a person might live, their medical and dental treatment, health care, and other services. It also provides information and support to private and enduring guardians, service providers and the wider community. 

About the role

The Regional Manager will develop and lead a high performing guardianship team to deliver quality decision-making, customer service and advocacy that meet the needs of the people we represent, stakeholders and aligns to the agency’s strategic direction. 

In the role you will:

  • Lead and manage a high performing team, providing expert knowledge and advice to ensure quality customer service and optimum outcomes.
  • Provide advice and recommendations to the NSW Public Guardian on complex or contentious matters to support effective decision making.
  • Contribute to operational and policy issues to support agency goals and objective.

About you

You are encouraged to apply if you: 

  • Have a demonstrated knowledge of guardianship practice or similar industry.
  • Are passionate about providing effective, efficient and timely support and advocacy to the people we represent.
  • Are a strategic thinker, you will be confident in contributing to the development, review and implementation of policies, procedures, and quality assurance systems to improve service delivery.
  • Have experience collaborating across a range of stakeholders, advocating on behalf of others and your people management skills will see you succeed in this role.

Essential requirements  

  • Demonstrated leadership skills for the delivery of services in a complex customer environment.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in social, health, behavioural sciences or related discipline.
  • Sound strategic thinking capacity, management and administrative skills.
  • Available to travel throughout NSW and to undertake after hours work on a rotational basis.
