Background:

The Fair Work Commission (FWC) is undertaking a review of modern awards. The Flight Attendants Association (FAAA)requires a project officer to manage the review in respect of the Aircraft Cabin Crew award 2020.

The FWC in conjunction with the national wage case is reviewing awards for instances of systemic gender-based undervaluation. The project officer would also be responsible for managing this work.

Job Type:

The project officer position is initially full-time for one year with possible extension. An attractive remuneration package is offered. Preferably Sydney based however will consider other locations.

Job:

  • To manage and advise the FAAA Secretary, Executive and Manager Industrial on the 2023 award review process.
  • To prepare the FAAA’s response to the review
  • To research the necessary data, award history, submissions, and witness statements
  • To liaise with relevant organisations including the FWC, ACTU, other Unions and employers

Experience:

Minimum 4 years as an industrial officer/ lawyer. Desirable experience with the Award Modernisation process and/or modern awards,

  • Communication with members, staff, and related organisations
  • Submission writing
  • Preparation of witness statements
  • Industrial research
  • Project Coordination
  • Time management
