ABOUT US

Reconciliation Victoria is the statewide body promoting reconciliation and strengthening relationships with First Peoples across Victoria. This means we promote respect, self-determination, and justice for and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. Our work is guided by local Aboriginal voices and focuses primarily on an audience of 97% of non-Indigenous Victorians. We work closely with and facilitate connections with local reconciliation groups, other community groups, the education sector, and state and local government partners. We promote reconciliation all-year-round and organise reconciliation activities across Victoria.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Office and Project Manager provides an important operational function at Reconciliation Victoria. The role reports to the CEO and supports the office, Board, Cultural Council, and our key stakeholder groups. These groups include local governments, schools, local reconciliation groups, Aboriginal services and authorities, and organisations with Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs).

You will bring a strong understanding of organisational governance, experience in office management, staff coordination, managing projects, and providing Executive Administrative support to CEOs, Boards, and strategic stakeholder groups and committees.

Specifically, in this role, you will:

  • Oversee the day to day running of the office;
  • Provide executive support, manage calendars, and coordinate meetings;
  • Prepare executive communication for the CEO to review;
  • Manage funding timelines and reporting obligations and deadlines;
  • Coordinate key events, including organising logistics, bookings, and delegate responsibilities; and
  • Provide admin support to all Board, Executive, Cultural Council and Strategic Working Group activities.

ABOUT YOU

You will demonstrate knowledge of the reconciliation movement and have an interest in cultural learning, and an ability to engage with diverse stakeholders. This role would suit an individual who is committed to maintaining a productive, inclusive, and positive workplace culture. Experience working closely with and having a strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture will be highly regarded in this role.

You are also responsive, attentive to detail, organised, multi-tasking and highly competent at overseeing operational responsibilities, funding commitments, and strategic priorities.

You will have experience working directly with a CEO ideally in a NFP or government organisation, providing executive and Board support. Your project coordination and technical proficiency will support your efficient work practices and ability to use your time well.
