About the company:

Our client, Green Goes the Grocer, is a supplier of certified organic and biodynamic fresh produce, organic bulk dry goods, biodynamic meat, organic chicken, organic dairy, earth-friendly household goods and more. With a home delivery service and an email ordering system, their customers come from across the Mount Alexander Shire area.

About the role:

Starting in January 2021 and reporting directly to the owners, the Organic Grocery Store Coordinator is responsible for the management of all stock (except for fresh fruit and vegetables.) With a strong focus on providing exceptional customer service, the Organic Grocery Store Coordinator is involved with a variety of functions to ensure the day-to-day smooth operation of the store.

You will be joining a friendly, personable and environmentally conscious team who strive to provide outstanding customer service and wholesome, ethical and sustain food for you and your family.

This position requires someone with superior communication skills, a flexible work approach and excellent organisation and problem-solving skills.

Key duties will include but limited to:

  • Managing the ordering of all products via phone and email.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory levels and conducting regular stock-takes.
  • Sourcing and ordering products from suppliers and wholesalers.
  • Training and supervision of staff, including junior staff which may involve as many as six people on a shift.
  • Monitoring customer buying patterns.
  • Recording and reconciling invoicing.
  • Undertaking till reconciliations and banking of cash.
  • Managing daily store set-up and product displays.
  • Unloading deliveries and restocking shelves and fridges.
  • Overseeing store cleanliness.
  • Providing excellent customer service and assist with advice on product enquiries

To succeed in this role, you will require the following:

  • Demonstrated experience working within the retail, wholesale and/or hospitality industry, with product knowledge of health foods and organic products.
  • Sufficient physical strength to unload deliveries and arrange displays.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with outstanding customer service, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to multi-task, with well-developed numeracy skills and good attention to detail.
  • Previous experience working as a purchasing officer or equivalent.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
