Junction Australia is looking to welcome Therapeutic Support Workers to their northern, southern and Mt Barker houses across multiple contracts. You will be primarily responsible for focusing on children and young people within the houses with a view to improving their confidence and self-esteem through the promotion of positive attitudes and lifestyle choices. It is important to note that this role will require regular travel during work hours, however you will be provided with a company car for this travel.

The ideal candidate will have or will be completing a Certificate IV in Youth Work or Child, Youth and Family intervention (or equivalent) in conjunction with demonstrated previous experience in responding to trauma related behaviours. Please note that a Certificate IV in Youth Work or Child, Youth and Family intervention must be completed within the first 12 months of employment. Applications from candidates who are degree or tertiary qualified in (or undertaking) Social Work or Psychology will also be highly regarded.
You will also have sound interpersonal communication skills, allowing you to effectively engage and establish rapport with clients, staff and external agencies. It is also imperative that you possess the ability to work across a 24/7 roster and undertake passive (sleepover) and active night shifts. You will also be expected to participate in the on-call roster.
Please note: You will require a Working With Children Check (WWCC), First Aid Certificate, Safe Environment Certificate and a current Australian Driver's Licence. It is also a requirement to undertake a psychological assessment as part of the recruitment process.
