About the Organisation

Rural Financial Counselling Service NSW - Central Region (RFCSCR) is a not-for-profit organisation that hosts government funded programs to foster regional economic development and business support in the Central and Western regions of New South Wales.

RFCSCR has experienced Rural Financial Counsellors based in Dubbo, Broken Hill, Bourke, Tottenham, Forbes, Parkes, West Wyalong, Nyngan, Walgett, Coonamble, Coonabarabran, Mudgee, Gilgandra, Lithgow, and Bathurst. This team of experienced specialists service the Local Government areas surrounding these locations. They provide confidential, free and impartial rural financial counselling services to primary producers, fishers and small rural businesses experiencing financial difficulties due to a range of issues, from business outcomes to bushfire, drought and floods.

About the Opportunity

RFCSCR now has a newly created role for a ICT Support Officer to join their team in Dubbo. This is a part-time position, working a flexible 22.5 hours a week on a fixed-term contract, with extension likely subject to further funding.

Working with a 3rd party service provider based in Sydney, you will be the main point of contact for any technical issues, as well as supporting day to day IT operations, including the configuration and maintenance of RFCSCR's network, data servers and desktop/mobile devices as the organisation continues to grow.

Some of your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining the ICT asset register, assisting with the set-up and close-down of staff profiles and their ICT equipment;
  • Assisting with the purchase of ICT products, software and services, resolving any warranty-related faults as required;
  • Ensuring support is available remotely to the staff of other RFCSCR locations and offices;
  • Identifying areas of improvement in relevant ICT operations where possible, developing and updating policies, procedures and standards where needed;
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation of ICT device, system and network configurations, policies, procedures and instructions;
  • Contributing to the strategic planning of future programs, activities and upgrades; and
  • Sharing knowledge and providing cross-skill support to other team members as required.

About You

To be successful you will need demonstrated experience in a relevant ICT support role, ideally in a similarly sized SME. A relevant qualification or certificate would be highly regarded but is not essential.

It is crucial that you have demonstrated experience in a range of Microsoft products and software, including SharePoint and Microsoft Servers, as well as a practical understanding of LAN, WAN and cloud networks.

A genuinely friendly individual, with great communication skills, you'll have the broad technical skills and up-to-date knowledge needed to effectively problem solve a variety of issues, and be able to break down complex information or instructions to be straightforward and engaging, even for a non-technical audience.

With ongoing demand for their services, due in part to recent bushfires, floods, COVID-19 and more, RFCSCR is looking for someone proactive, who can see the 'big picture' and will identify opportunities to upgrade or improve their technology ahead of time, as they continue to grow. You'll be genuinely keen to get stuck in and help out wherever needed, whether that's helping with design software like Canva, or monitoring their vehicle tracking system.

Please note: You will need to hold a current Australian driver's license and will be asked to consent to a criminal history check.

About the Benefits

This is a rare opportunity to provide a positive and much needed service to small business owners and regional communities in NSW.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with an attractive remuneration package, commensurate with your experience and qualifications, including salary packaging options. For those coming from interstate, relocation assistance could be negotiated, to help you get settled in town.

In addition to the financial benefits, you will enjoy an intensive induction and training program when you join the organisation, ensuring you are equipped with all the tools you need to hit the ground running. You'll also benefit from the flexibility of part-time hours, with your scheduled days and times negotiable depending on your needs.
