• We require 2 Seniors Lawyers to work as part of a team in Broome & Kununurra.
• Experience in civil law; tenancy, child protection, family violence or family law with at least 3 years + PAE is required.
• Travel around the region via road and/or small aircraft will be required.

THE ROLE

To deliver legal information, advice, advocacy, representation and education services to clients throughout the East or West Kimberley regions and outreach locations across the region.

YOU

• Eligibility to hold an unrestricted practising certificate in Western Australia.
• Casework and advocacy experience in civil law in at least one of the following areas: tenancy, child protection, family violence, or family law. Minimum 3 years of practice experience post-admission.
• Critical interpersonal communication skills, including communicating with clients with empathy and reflecting on lawyering practice.
• Critical written skills, including the ability to write sophisticated legal concepts in plain language. Sound organisational skills and ability to manage workload, competing demands, meet deadlines and to work effectively as part of a team.
• Understanding and commitment to principles of social justice and to working effectively with Indigenous people.
• Experience in advising and representing people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and in developing and delivering community education programs.
• Personal resilience, adaptability and ability to meet the challenges of remote service delivery.
• Current driver’s licence valid for use in WA.
• Experience in a community legal practice setting and/or community-based organisation
