The Edge team are seeking those with diverse interests who can connect and work with NDIS participants to help them receive the most from their NDIS plan. As an NDIS Employment Support Coach, you will assist people with disability implement supports and goals in their NDIS plan.

About the role

As an NDIS Employment Support Coach, you will provide support and mentor NDIS participants with a disability, injury, or health condition to overcome barriers to employment, build their capacity and job readiness for employment. You will help support them in attaining and maintaining employment. Using an individualised and person-centred planning approach, you will work with participants to action their goals. This is a great opportunity for innovative and solution-focused individuals to make a real difference in the lives of others.

The NDIS Employment Support Coach, role is part time or full-time position working in the community, with an office base at our head office in Subiaco, predominantly you will work in the community across Perth Metro.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Use a person-centred approach to discover a participant’s skills and capabilities and work with them to develop a plan of employment supports in line with their Service Agreement.
  • Increase the participant's work readiness through capacity building, skill-building activities, and work experience.
  • Reviewing participants’ progress towards overcoming identified vocational barriers.
  • Monitor participant outcomes to ensure individual NDIS employment goals are met.  
  • Build positive relationships with all relevant stakeholders including families, guardians, educators, and allied health professionals.
  • Build relationships with employers to create work experience and employment opportunities for participants.
  • Provide on-the-job support during work experiences or employment. opportunities to assist participants to maintain employment opportunities.
  • Actively market our NDIS services to the wider community
  • Maintain necessary records of service provision and maintain compliance standards.

About You – Selection Criteria

  • Previous experience supporting young people or adults with their education and/or into employment.
  • Experience supporting people with a disability.
  • Ability to build relationships with local businesses to create work experiences or employment opportunities.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to working with people who have a disability.
  • Ability to manage time and workloads effectively.
  • Energetic and driven.
  • Ability to prioritise your own workload and achieve targets.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Australian Driver’s License.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance or willingness to obtain.
  • Current WA Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
  • Police clearance certificate (no more than 6 months old) or willingness to obtain.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Commitment to uphold Edge’s values.
