Remote / Work from Home
Eating Disorders Families Australia (EDFA) was founded by a passionate group of parents who have cared for, and are caring for, young people with eating disorders. EDFA’s focus has now grown to include all carers and families of those of all ages with eating disorders, including partners, siblings, grandparents, and friends.
EDFA is dedicated to providing lived-experience support, education, and advocacy to empower families and carers in their journeys with their own loved ones. We understand and respect that everyone’s journey is different, and take an unbiased approach to treatment, clinicians, and pathways of care.
The Program Manager will be responsible for managing EDFA's highly successful Fill The Gap (FTG) counselling service and team, comprising 2.0 FTE lived-experience counsellors, an evaluation and research assistant, and an administration assistant. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Manager is responsible for the ongoing success and long-term sustainability of this program, which is currently funded by the Federal Government until June 2026.
The Program Manager is responsible for maintaining and adhering to EDFA and FTG's governance, compliance, and policy frameworks. In addition, the role will be responsible for reporting to the EDFA Board and the Federal Government, and evaluating the program with the assistance of the Evaluation Assistant and the EDFA Research Committee.
The Program Manager is also required to provide counselling to carers to ensure appropriate coverage of session availability, and is responsible for managing an appropriate roster for the same purpose.
Our fully remote working team is located around Australia. This part-time role (0.8 FTE) can be undertaken from anywhere in Australia and flexible working arrangements are on offer. The ability to work on Fridays is essential.
The ideal candidate will have registration with AHPRA as a general psychologist or clinical psychologist, or registration with another professional body for a similar profession. An Australia New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders (ANZAED) credential, or the intention to obtain the credential, is essential, as are full working rights in Australia. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in delivering psychology or counselling services, and ideally, the candidate will have lived experience as a carer of someone with an eating disorder or have provided extensive services to those impacted by eating disorders.
They will have experience in leading a team of professionals, including management of staff rosters and will have provided coaching, mentoring, professional development, and supervision to those teams. They will be comfortable in leading a fully remote team that is empowered through trust.
EDFA is looking for an individual who has worked in leading similar program services and has a deep understanding of the various functions, systems, policies, and procedures required to deliver a professional service.
The ideal candidate will be an influential leader, who combines critical thinking with high-order collaborative skills and can demonstrate a capacity to lead programs, empower others, and achieve collective outcomes.
