A not-for-profit organisation supported by a high calibre Board, EDFA provides support, education, advocacy, and counselling services to families and carers who are supporting someone with an eating disorder. Our fully remote working team is located around Australia. This part-time role (0.6 FTE) can be undertaken from anywhere in Australia and flexible working arrangements are on offer.

The Marketing and Communications Manager will work on a broad range of marketing and communications projects that align with EDFA’s Strategic Business Plan 2024-2028.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Support, educate, and empower carers of those living with an eating disorder through clear and concise marketing and communications.
  • Use your creativity and strong communication skills to raise awareness of EDFA and the impact on families of caring for someone with an eating disorder to advocate for change at the national level.
  • Be supported to adopt innovative practices and continue to develop your skills.

DUTIES:

Reporting to the Executive Director, this broad role is ideally suited to a marketing and communications generalist. The Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for:

  • Development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that aligns with our Strategic Business Plan 2024-2028.
  • Planning and publishing EDFA’s Annual Report and Annual Impact Statement each year with input and support from the EDFA team.
  • Working closely with the Executive Director to implement successful marketing strategies to support EDFA’s annual Recharge 4 Recovery fundraising campaign.
  • Managing EDFA’s website, SEO, and its email direct marketing (eDM) strategy and campaigns.
  • Working closely with EDFA's Marketing and Administration Coordinator to manage multi-channel marketing campaigns - Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
  • Effectively using our marketing automation platform, Constant Contact, to grow EDFA membership.
  • Developing contemporary and effective marketing collateral.
  • Managing EDFA’s content creation volunteers to ensure copy aligns with EDFA’s marketing and communications strategy and its vision, mission, values.
  • Assisting with PR and media.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:

  • Tertiary level qualification in Marketing, Communications, PR or a similar field.
  • Lived experience with an eating disorder (either your own, a family member, or a close friend) is highly desirable, but not essential.
  • 5+ years as a marketing and communications generalist.
  • Very strong data analysis capabilities and ideally experience with CRMs and marketing automation platforms.
  • Digitally savvy with strong systems skills including Canva and Adobe.
  • Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Skills in design and video editing are highly desirable, but not essential.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise daily workload, and work independently.
  • Working with Children Check essential.
  • Police Check essential.
