Eating Disorders Families Australia (EDFA) is the only national organisation solely for families and carers of those living with eating disorders. A not-for-profit organisation, EDFA provides support to families and carers who are grappling every day with the challenges of supporting someone with an eating disorder.

Our fully remote team is located around Australia. This part-time role can be undertaken from anywhere in Australia.

EDFA's Fill The Gap (FTG) program was established in October 2023, after receiving Federal Government funding. The program is a free, online counselling service for those caring for a loved one with an eating disorder and aims to deliver education, support, and skills to help carers to be an effective part of their loved one’s recovery team.

EDFA is seeking an experienced Administration Assistant to support the provision of counselling services to those caring for someone with an eating disorder.

In this role, you will provide high-quality efficient administrative support, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the service. This role, which is responsible for the effective and efficient administrative support for EDFA and the Fill The Gap program, would suit a mature, experienced individual, who is motivated to make a difference through providing superior administrative support.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in practice administration including the use of Cliniko software, along with strong proficiency in computer applications.

Ideally, this person would be available to work 4.5 hours a day, Monday to Friday.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Extensive experience in administration support, preferably having worked in a medical, allied health, or patient-care environment.
  • Proficiency in Cliniko practice management software, along with strong Microsoft Office / Office 365 programs, is ideal.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Lived experience of caring for someone with an eating disorder is preferred but not essential.
  • A current Working with Children Check and Police Check are essential.

This is an ideal role for an autonomous, mature self-starter who gets the job done.

At EDFA, our mission is to ensure families and carers impacted by an eating disorder are supported, educated, and empowered. Our mission is to enable families and carers to be more effective, supported and recognised as a central part of the recovery process for a loved one with an eating disorder.
