About Easy Care Gardening

Easy Care Gardening (ECG) is a not-for-profit (NFP), charity that has been providing gardening services to older people since 1988.

ECG is a My Aged Care provider funded under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme.

ECG helps to maintain the gardens of older people within the Hornsby, Hunters Hill, Ku‑ring‑gai and Ryde areas largely through dedicated teams of volunteers.

Our teams of volunteers provide gardening services to enable our clients to remain in their homes and enjoy their garden with a level of independence.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The role of the Management Committee is to provide overall strategic guidance and effective oversight for ECG.

Duties will include:

  • Attendance at monthly Management Committee meetings held on a Friday morning
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports and to presenting at the Management Committee meetings and annual general meeting as required

Essential Criteria

  1. A background or in experience in legal or business management services
  2. Successful applicants will be required to have a complete police check

Desirable Criteria

  1. Experience in the NFP sector
  2. Experience working with volunteer-based organisations
  3. An interest in gardening
