Our Client, Kids Hope Australia (KHA) exists to offer hope in the life of every child. KHA is Australia’s largest early intervention, school-based mentoring program and has been transforming the lives of children experiencing vulnerability in primary schools since 2004. Today, over 20,000 one to one mentoring relationships have been facilitated through the establishment of strong relationships between local primary schools and churches.

The Board are now seeking to appoint a dynamic and visionary CEO to lead the organisation through a period of transformational change to achieve efficient growth and deliver effective scaling, incorporating digitalisation. The CEO will play a pivotal role in reshaping KHA’s approach, ensuring long-term sustainability, sound fiscal management and volunteer growth, to create a positive impact in the lives of children, schools, and churches. The CEO will provide strategic and operational leadership to create and deliver the plans of the organisation whilst ensuring KHA, vision and passion remains strong, and the organisation is run with excellence. The CEO works in collaboration with the Board to ensure ongoing legal compliance and governance, risk and financial management and public and government relations.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Introducing and managing key partnerships and stakeholder relationships,
  • Maximising the effectiveness of the network of Churches, schools, mentors and program coordinators.
  • Initiating and managing marketing, fundraising and program expansion functions to achieve targets.
  • Staff coaching, management and development
  • Compliance, program evaluation and financial management.
  • You will be a servant leader who is strongly aligned to the values of this NFP charity, who has the unique ability to inspire others, to build excellent relationships with key stakeholders, including major donors and church leaders and have a proven track record of success in senior leadership roles in Education or the not-for-profit (NFP) sector, where you have built, led and mentored highly effective teams. 

The successful candidate will possess an entrepreneurial orientation coupled with an ability to build capacity to sustain ongoing growth, as well as possessing a good mix between strategic and operational skills. You’re highly organised and able to inspire others, have sound business and financial acumen, possess excellent people skills, are tertiary qualified and have worked effectively with a Board of Directors or equivalent. Ideally you will have prepared and managed strategic plans and budgets and have proven experience managing teams across multiple sites nationally.

Your knowledge and understanding of the Christian landscape in Australia will be vital to this role as will your willingness to travel. This is one of those great opportunities for someone who wants to make a real difference and use their leadership skill and talent to help transform lives by helping vulnerable and disadvantage children all over the nation.
