This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence by working to build the capacity of the DVConnect workforce and the quality of service delivery.

Your New Role

This new role has two distinct areas - training and quality. You will be researching, designing and delivering contemporary training programs that are engaging and informative to build on the capacity internally of our staff, to support DVConnect's continuous improvement and growth.

This will include:

  • Reviewing induction and training processes (including resources) across the organisation
  • Contributing to the development of training plans for new staff.
  • Developing online training modules and workshops and implement using the LMS
  • Contributing to the annual training schedule and sourcing and coordination of external training across the organisation as required

In addition another key part of this role will also be to review, implement and undertake quality reviews across the crisis teams, providing constructive feedback and recommendations to leadership, which will assist in the identification of training, coaching and mentoring needs.

What you need to Succeed

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or equivalent would be well regarded or a minimum of professional development in the training space and 1+yr experience in similar role
  • Tertiary qualifications in the areas of Social and Behavioural Sciences and/or other appropriate qualification(s) with extensive experience in the DFV and/or other sectors.
  • Well-developed knowledge and analysis of the effects, causes and dynamics of domestic and family violence and knowledge or relevant legislation
  • Understanding of quality principles and continuous improvement, as well as HSQF Standards would be advantageous.
  • Well developed telephone counselling and risk assessment skills, preferably in the area of domestic violence and crisis work
  • Skilled at developing and delivering training programs using a variety of methods (online; webinars; facilitated and practical workshops)
  • Highly developed IT skills including Microsoft office suite; exposure/experience in LMS and online learning platforms and ability to confidently navigate various web-based applications
  • Demonstrated understanding of adult learning principles and teaching styles/strategies to achieve desired outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced, high demand and complex work environments, maintaining a calm and supportive disposition and good self-care practices in place.
  • Positive notice blue card or ability and willingness to obtain
  • Right to work in Australia
