DUSA is the Deakin University Student Association and is the student voice at the University and in the broader community. DUSA aims at enhancing the student experience at Deakin and helping students succeed. We support all students whether they study off campus, are undergraduates, postgraduates or international students.

This unique role combines elements of both communications and design as you work within a small team to play an integral role in continuing the DUSA communications strategy, which aims to increase membership and student engagement.

ABOUT the role:

  • Use your creative design and communication skills to showcase activities and drive membership sales and event engagement
  • Create social media content with a particular focus on engaging university students
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to produce marketing materials
  • Campaign planning and execution using multiple channels such as web, digital media, social media and print
  • Take photos on event days and promote to social media
  • Generate marketing material and publications for the organisation

ABOUT YOU:

  • 5 years’ experience in a either communications or graphic design
  • A tertiary degree in Communications and/or Marketing
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite; including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Ability to promote services and memberships via all social media platforms and through internal and external communication channels
  • Experience managing website content
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive under pressure
  • Team player with a can do attitude

What you need to know:

  • 4 days per week
  • hourly rate + 14% super + 2% pay rise in July
  • Extra paid benefits: 17.5% leave loading + extra paid leave days in December
  • 12 month maternity leave fixed term contract (opportunity to extend or go perm)
