About the Role:
- Managing a variety of grant projects focusing on information, building individual capacity, innovative projects to increase the independence, social, community and economic participation of people with a disability.
- Work alongside Executive Officer on setting up and conducting service agreements, seeking grant opportunities, engaging grant writers to increase our services supporting the community of DSWA in Metro and Rural.
- Operate within proposed budgets, meet KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) in tune with agreed activities of service agreements, oversee and administer relevant grants including reports and acquittals. Be willing to participate in up to date information on grant KPI’s and acquittals working with Financial Controller and Executive Officer.
- Coordinating, and supporting the delivery of services and supports provided by DSWA to people with disabilities who have NDIS funded packages.
- Providing one to one support, NDIS information to families by phone, email, face to face, imparting information regarding their rights, education/health options, family supports, advocacy, promoting open employment opportunities, traineeships, independent living options, advocating and marketing our current social and educational programs.
- Work alongside Communications and Marketing officer to update and develop current information using social media and other forms of communication.
- Set up and conduct peer support groups and activities within Metro and Rural.
- Conduct NDIS information sessions and how best to work alongside local coordinators ensuring participants of the NDIS achieve their goals.
- Support choice, control and develop peer leadership among families, our Ambassadors and collaborate with other organisations to develop innovative opportunities.
- Participate in yearly organised events such as Gala Dinner and Step up fundraising activity.
- Liaise and work cooperatively with contractors, stakeholders including other agencies, and providers to ensure the best outcome for our participants. Ability to engage in negotiation when dealing with external providers and contractors.
- Coordinate with external consultants and Executive Officer to undertake NDIS Safeguards, Quality Evaluations and reviews relating to internal quality assurance and continuous improvement processes.
- Ensure high quality record keeping and be willing to train in new CRM database and upskilling with IT systems.
- Provide ongoing professional guidance, performance reviews and mentoring to the team. Provide inhouse inductions for volunteers and other group leaders.
- Engage external consultants to provide relevant staff training and participate in own personal development relevant to the position.
- Co -Design with people with Down syndrome, their families, and carers Camping Getaways, Health and Wellbeing Retreats for Peer Leadership Training, families and carers.
- Attend weekly project /staff meetings
- Attend workshops and training courses relevant to position, including mandatory training and where appropriate share learning outcomes with colleagues.

- Tertiary qualifications related to the role, lived experienced highly regarded
- Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of NDIS service model
- Delivery of high-quality person-centred services in the NDIS environment or willing to learn
- Demonstrated skills and experience in effective project management
- You must have a high level of understanding and knowledge through work or life experience of disability and the impact on families and individuals
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain internal and external working relationships that foster collaboration and deliver good outcomes
- Demonstrated high level, conceptual and analytical skills
- Demonstrated experience in achievement of Key Performance Indicators
- Experience leading and coaching a team
- Excellent written, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated experience in report writing, grant acquittals process or be willing to learn
- Experience in supervising and supporting teams
- Have a person centred and outcome focused approach to service delivery
- Ability to think innovatively with a practical approach in how to support participants involved in our NDIS services and programs.

Essential Requirements:
- Current Drivers Licence
- Current National Police Record no later than six months
- Current Working with Children Check or ability to obtain one.
