A little about the role

DPV Health offers a whole of life mental health service that is co-led by consumers and carers, embraces all levels of evidence to support each individual’s recovery.

The Mental Health Clinician will work as part of a team which provides triage, comprehensive mental health assessment, risk assessment and management, psychological intervention and evidence-based therapy to people within a community-based care setting. 

The clinician coordinates the clinical delivery of treatment and care, making sure people and their families receive timely, responsive and suitable services to meet their needs. This role ensures that the service performs as a best practice example, and that the care delivered to people is of the highest possible standard.

About you

To succeed in this role you will need: 

  • Substantial clinical experience in a range of clinical mental health settings with highly developed mental health assessment skills. 
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of mental health and risk assessments, capacity to formulate, make differential or provisional diagnoses, and provide brief solution focussed therapies. 
  • Demonstrated experience in suicide prevention or capacity to gain the experience swiftly.
  • Knowledge and application of the biopsychosocial framework. 
  • Knowledge of and ability to deliver therapeutic modalities including but not limited to single session work, motivational interviewing, cognitive behaviour therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema, Mindfulness Cognitive Therapy, etc. 
  • Ability to deliver DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) skills group – highly desirable. 
  • Strong capability in delivering Cognitive Analytical Therapy – highly desirable. 

You are tertiary qualified in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing to complement your experience in delivering mental health service to people with moderate to severe mental ill health.

  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check, hold a valid WWCC, NDIS clearance and possess up to date COVID vaccination status.
