Botanic Gardens of Sydney is the organisation working on behalf of the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust, which is established under the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust Act 1980.
The organisation encompasses Australia’s premier botanical research institute, Sydney’s leading outdoor live entertainment and activation precinct, and three world-leading botanic gardens and international tourism destinations.
As Australia’s oldest scientific institution, Botanic Gardens of Sydney are custodians of more than $1.2 billion in state significant cultural, heritage and botanical collections. The Gardens are a leading entity within the NSW tourism sector with a focus on engaging international, national, and regional visitors.
Are you passionate about conservation and sustainability? Would you like to play a crucial role in securing funding to address pressing environmental challenges? Our Partnerships and Development team is actively seeking a dynamic and proactive Grants Manager to further enhance the success of the Gardens’ fundraising strategy and boost grant revenue. In this role, you will collaborate with experts across various fields, including science, education, assets, horticulture, as well as with the Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens, to secure financial support for critical strategic projects that cannot be achieved with Government funding alone.
The Grants Manager will be instrumental in overseeing, tracking, and reporting on the grants program, working towards the development of a sustainable income stream. Additionally, the role involves cultivating and expanding a portfolio of Trusts and Foundations. Taking principal responsibility, you will manage selected grants from the identification and qualification stages, through the drafting and submission process, to reporting and acquittals. The role also includes providing support to key staff in tracking, managing, and reporting on technical and scientific grants as needed.
