This position is open to Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time or Casual appointments with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Position Profile: 

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic person for the position of Senior Dietitian in the Eating Disorders Service at Perth Children’s Hospital. In this position, you will, as part of the multi-disciplinary team, provide Dietetic services at an advanced practice level to patients in the field of Eating Disorders. The role also supports the Service Manager in providing supervision to P1 Dietetic staff whilst acting as a Dietetic clinical consultant/resource to Dietitians and other health professionals. The position plans, implements and evaluates patient safety and quality of care and provides service development in assigned areas.

CAHS is made up four service areas: Neonatology, Community Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), and Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH). Consisting of over 5,500 employees, our services are delivered at PCH and King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH), as well as across a network of more than 160 community clinics across the metropolitan area.

Selection Criteria: 

The following criteria should be considered in the context of the CAHS Vision, Objectives and Values.

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in Dietetics and eligible for full membership of the Dietitian's Association of Australia as an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD).
  • Considerable relevant experience in clinical dietetics and proven ability to apply current evidence-based dietetic knowledge to patient management in a paediatric setting at an advanced practice level.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide safe patient care.
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation and liaison skills in a variety of situations and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and conduct relevant clinical quality improvement projects in line with departmental outcomes. 
  • Ability to supervise and support Dietetic staff and students.
  • Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety and Health, and how these impact on employment and service delivery.

Desirable

  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical dietetics to children and families where the child is experiencing and eating disorder. 
  • Demonstrated experience providing clinical dietetics in an inpatient setting.
