The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia provides comprehensive mental health services to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years following a holistic and patient-centred approach.
Touchstone is a specialist structured day program for young people aged 12 to 17 years and their families. The program is designed to support young people with emerging personality disorders, struggling to cope with relationships, mood difficulties, and impulsive-harming behaviours.
At the centre of the Touchstone program is an evidence-based intervention called Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT) that focuses on supporting young people and their families to increase their capacity to better understand the link between feelings and behaviours and how they impact their daily lives.
Our diverse, multi-disciplinary team includes psychology, social work, occupational therapy, nursing, education, medical and psychiatry teams, and liaises with private and public sector youth and adult health providers. Our robust research program is a key component to continuous improvement of our services, together with consumer engagement, and parent focused education and support.
As Research Coordinator you will be responsible for initiating, developing, conducting, and evaluating research within the services of Touchstone and provide consultancy and education to clinicians involved in the research.
You will lead the development and management of a comprehensive research program for Touchstone projects including conducting long-term studies, creating partnerships with other centres nationally and internationally, developing, and implementing policy frameworks, guidelines, and standards for clinical research projects and activities, and regularly providing clear analysis and reports of research findings through presentations and publications.
If you are passionate about furthering clinical research in the child and adolescent mental health space, please apply for this role or contact our team to find out more.
