We're seeking a strategic, relationship-focused Fundraising Manager to help grow and diversify income across philanthropy, trusts and foundations, partnerships, workplace giving and bequests.

This is an opportunity to join a small, committed team and play a key role in supporting some of Australia's most important documentary projects and impact initiatives.

About the Role

Full-time | Permanent| Sydney (Hybrid) | 1 WFH day per week | 4 or 5 days considered for exceptional candidate.

The Fundraising Manager will play a key role in delivering Documentary Australia’s fundraising strategy.

Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, Partnerships and Communications, you will help drive Documentary Australia's fundraising strategy, build meaningful donor and funder relationships, and identify new opportunities for growth.

You'll combine strong relationship-building skills with a data-informed approach, using CRM systems, fundraising insights and emerging technologies to strengthen fundraising performance and supporter engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Trusts and Foundations

  • Research and identify grant opportunities for Documentary Australia, its programs and supported films
  • Write compelling grant applications and acquittal reports
  • Manage grant pipelines, reporting requirements and funder relationships
  • Maintain accurate records and funding calendars

Donor and Fundraising Development

  • Support fundraising campaigns across multiple channels
  • Help grow and steward donor, foundation and partner relationships
  • Contribute to workplace giving and bequest programs
  • Research and qualify new fundraising prospects

Partnerships

  • Identify and support partnership opportunities aligned with our mission and values
  • Maintain a pipeline of prospective partners and funders
  • Collaborate across teams to maximise fundraising opportunities

Data, Systems and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate donor and fundraising records within Salesforce
  • Analyse fundraising performance and supporter engagement
  • Use digital and AI-enabled tools to improve fundraising effectiveness and efficiency
  • Contribute to fundraising planning, reporting and continuous improvement

about you

You are an experienced fundraiser who enjoys building authentic relationships and creating opportunities for people to support meaningful work.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, philanthropy or development
  • A strong track record securing grants from trusts and foundations
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Experience managing donor and stakeholder relationships
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • An understanding of the Australian philanthropic landscape
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute in a small team environment
